WHAT’S CHANGED
Operoso release notes.
1.4.0 beta — optional cloud-folder backups
Available on latest/beta · revision 6 · November 5, 2026. Stable remains 1.3.0 · revision 5. The 1.4 beta passed local owner testing with an existing Google-synced folder and is available from the Snap Store.
- Choose a private folder already synced by Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or another provider. No cloud login or provider API is added to Operoso.
- Save verified SQLite copies of all workspaces. Checks run at startup, every 15 minutes while open and when closing; changed data produces a new automatic copy.
- Use Back up now for a manual copy. Keep the latest 30 automatic copies per installation; manual copies and other installations’ backups remain.
- Remember the folder across restarts, see the last local save and get warnings when the folder is unavailable or a write fails.
- Restore a downloaded copy through Preview import as new workspaces. Existing records are not overwritten.
The working database stays local. Your sync client handles cloud upload: a local save does not confirm remote upload. No backups run while Operoso is closed. Copies are not encrypted by Operoso. This is backup, not simultaneous multi-device editing. Read the cloud-backup guide.
Trying the beta
Keep an external backup, close Operoso, then opt into beta:
sudo snap refresh operoso --channel=latest/betaFor a new installation, use sudo snap install operoso --channel=latest/beta. In About, check that the version is 1.4.0. Open Import / export → Cloud backup folder to choose your folder.
Data and backup format remain version 4, shared with 1.3. The current import limit is 20 MB. To return to the current stable channel, close Operoso and run sudo snap refresh operoso --channel=latest/stable; keep your existing user-data folder. Older apps before 1.3 cannot read version-4 records.
1.3.0 — invoice filters and payment insights
Released on the stable channel · revision 5 · November 3, 2026. Operoso 1.3.0 is the current stable release, available from the Snap Store.
- Filter invoices by year, month or custom dates, using invoice or due date.
- Type a client name to find saved clients, or add a new client when saving an invoice.
- See monthly billed work, collected payments, receivable aging and payment insights.
- Download a year-end accounting ZIP with invoice, payment and summary CSVs. This is an accounting aid, not tax filing.
- Marking paid records today’s date; add missing historical payment dates or correct dates from the invoice.
- Correct a mistaken Paid status by choosing Sent or Draft and confirming removal of recorded payments.
- Amounts remain USD-only. Multiple currencies are deferred.
Data and JSON backups use version 4. Versions 1–3 remain importable. Export a backup before upgrading; returning to an older app requires a pre-update backup or snapshot.
1.2.0 — invoice appearance
Released on the stable channel as revision 4. Superseded by 1.3.0.
- Add a JPG or transparent PNG logo in Business details → Invoice appearance.
- Choose an invoice text/accent color and table-header color, with a small preview and reset option.
- Logos and colors appear in PDFs and stay with each saved invoice. New defaults do not restyle existing invoices.
- Backups include invoice appearance. Import / export explains saving a copy into an existing cloud-synced folder; there is no direct cloud-account connection or automatic upload.
- About and the app footer identify Operoso as a Seravio product and link to release information.
Version-3 backups and data require Operoso 1.2 or later. Older exports remain importable. Before upgrading, keep an external backup. The app also creates a verified pre-update snapshot; use the pre-update data if returning to an older app version.
1.1.0 — partial payments
Released on the Snap Store · October 2026
- Record manual partial payments and see remaining invoice balances.
- Payment-aware client and dashboard totals, plus payment history in PDFs.
- Updated JSON backup format and database migration with a safety snapshot.
Older paid invoices retain their paid amount; unknown historical payment dates are not invented. Payment-era backups require 1.1 or later.
